About Us

My name’s Janey Syrett, I’ve been a chef for over 20 years. I started as a kitchen hand in the local village pubs in East Sussex. When I was 20 I moved to Hope Cove to train as a sous chef at the newly opened Boathouse restaurant, attached to The Hope & Anchor, where under the guidance and mentorship of Lizzy Alsopp the Head Chef, I learned about seafood, and gained a real passion for fresh sustainable seasonal food.
