Join us for an unforgettable 75-minute coastal adventure!
Experience the thrill of a high-speed RIB ride along the stunning coastline to Start Point, where you’ll have the chance to encounter seals, dolphins, and even tuna in their natural habitat.
We’ll meet you at Whitestrand Pontoon, fit you with a life jacket, and assist you onto the RIB. Before departure, we conduct a thorough safety briefing covering seating positions, safety equipment, and the trip itinerary. You’ll be asked to sign a form to confirm you’ve understood the briefing.
Our journey begins with a slow, scenic cruise at 6 knots out of Salcombe Harbour. Upon reaching the harbour limits, we’ll check in with everyone before accelerating to a more exhilarating speed — fair warning, this is not a day to worry about your hairstyle!
We ride the waves toward Prawle Point, pausing to check on all passengers and share stories of the wreck of the Demetrius and the vital work of the Prawle Point Coastwatch. From there, we continue to Start Point Lighthouse, where we stop to admire the breathtaking scenery and observe the resident seal colony, accompanied by insights into seal behaviour and a few chocolate biscuits for refreshment.
On our return journey, we often venture a little farther out to sea in search of dolphins, porpoises, and tuna. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but calm days often bring the best opportunities.
As we re-enter Salcombe Harbour, you’ll learn about the town’s rich history, colourful characters, and unique local ecology. Our aim is to share the magic and stories of this special place with you, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your time on the water.
Alternatively book a thrilling 50-minute RIB ride designed to navigate the open sea, even when conditions prevent a full coastal tour. Our journey begins in the stunning Ria of Salcombe, heading toward Kingsbridge, where we share fascinating insights about historic shipwrecks, lime kilns, local wildlife, beautiful beaches, and the rich maritime history of the area.
We then venture beyond the harbour mouth, and if all passengers are comfortable, we pick up speed en route to Prawle Point. Here, you’ll see the wreck of the Demetrios, the Prawle Point Coastwatch station, and take in breathtaking views of the open ocean. Our exact route may vary depending on wind and wave conditions.
On the return journey, we explore secluded bays, always keeping an eye out for dolphins, porpoises, seals, tuna, seabirds, and jellyfish.
